The genesis of FargoStuff began with a local artist. FargoStuff is made up entirely of original designs from local artists, and we welcome ways to highlight up-and-coming artists. Art and its creators are important to all of us here at FargoStuff, and we can accredit much of that recognition to one of our local artists who happens to be the CEO behind FargoStuff and its sister company, Office Sign Company. Read on to learn more about our featured artist, Ryan Fritz!

Ryan, originally from Fargo, ND, started Office Sign Company in his basement almost 11 years ago. Since then, he has been working to expand our capabilities, both with signage as well as in apparel and gifts. He purchased FargoStuff circa 2016 with Fargo art and artists front of mind. Because of the high-tech machinery we have at Office Sign Company's production headquarters, we are able to highlight local artists photographs, art and more on a variety of platforms. Check it out here!

Ryan's art began at a young age, and he shows no aversion to trying new mediums. He's created works of art displaying realism with portraits, and in the last few years he has taken an abstract approach under the guidance of Marjorie Schlossman at Plains School of Abstract Painting. He's been honored as "Artist in Residency" at West Acres Mall, and he's spearheaded efforts in earning the Governor's Awards for the Arts on behalf of Office Sign Company. Art is a priority at FargoStuff, and Ryan ensures that is handled at the highest regard.

"I'm inspired by people and nature most often in my art, and sometimes plain emotion. However, the simple desire to 'create art' is something that always provides me the real inspiration. I'm continually inspired by other art and other artists. When it comes to abstract art, I love how incredibly freeing this method of art can be. The avenues are unlimited, which is also part of the great challenge of abstract art."

Ryan's art continues to prosper, and a selection can be found right on FargoStuff! One of our top-selling shirts, "Downtown Fargo" was sketched and designed by Ryan, and can be found here

Who better to kick off our #FeaturedArtist blogs than the CEO of FargoStuff? Thank you to Ryan for prioritizing art within our company and our community, and for taking the time to leave us with advice for aspiring artists:

"Never stop; keep making art. Keep practicing. Don't try to please others in your work. Please yourself."
